Project #3 - Gift Bag
For those occasions when you need a cute little gift bag to package your gift, this free project will be just the thing.
Instructions:
- Download and unzip the Gift Bag project file. Both MTC and SVG files are included.
- Open Scalloped Gift Bag.mtc in Make the Cut! Cut one gift bag from the patterned paper of your choice.
- Score the gift bag from top to bottom to form the sides of the bag, using the small slits as guides.
- Score the gift bag along the bottom at the upper edge of the tabs.
- Fold the gift bag along each score line. Glue the long side tab to the inside edge of the gift bag, then fold in the tabs on the bottom and glue in place.
- Punch two small holes in the top of each side of the gift bag. Set eyelets in the holes (optional). Thread ribbon or other fibre through the holes to form handles.
Project #2 - Tealight Candle Cover
Use this dainty tealight cover to dress up your tealight candles. Simply change paper it is cut from to make it appropriate for any season or occasion.
Instructions:
- Download and unzip the Tealight Candle Cover project file. Both MTC and SVG files are included.
- Open Tealight Candle Cover.mtc in Make the Cut! Cut one tealight cover from the patterned paper of your choice, and the three large stars from vellum.
- Glue one vellum star to the back of each large star shaped opening on the tealight cover.
- Using small pop dots, attach one star leftover from the tealight cover windows between each star window.
- Curve the candle cover into a circle and glue the tab (the piece with the slanted top) inside the other end, making sure the scallops are lined up.
- Using a small pop dot, attach the remaining star over the seam and between the final two windows.
- Slide your candle cover over a tealight candle.
Project #1 - Spring Flower Card
Instructions:
- Download and unzip the Spring Flower Card project file.
- Open SpringFlowerCard.mtc in Make the Cut!, arrange the individual card pieces on-screen the way you want to cut them, arrange your chosen paper on your cutting mat and cut the card.
- Put a vertical crease in the card base halfway along the length of the card.
- Glue the stem and leaves to the card base, lining up the right leaf and right side of the stem with the shaped edge of the card.
- Glue the bottom petals layer to the card base, lining up the right petals with the shaped edge of the card.
- Glue the center of the top petals layer to the center of the bottom petals, rotating the piece so the petals are offset, and leaving the petals loose.
- Glue the flower center to the center of the top petals.
- Bend and curl the top layer of petals up and in to create dimension.
- Stitch or glue a button or other embellishment on top of the flower center.
- Stamp or write your sentiment on the inside of the card.
